Huawei TalkBand B6 is a fitness tracker and headset in one

Huawei has launched the HUAWEI talkband b6, a fitness tracker with a display that unclips from the strap to double as a Bluetooth headset to take calls.

Not the first in the TalkBand range, the B6 is the most fully featured yet with fitness tracking, a heart rate sensor, Bluetooth 5.2, and Huawei’s Kirin A1 system on a chip.

It’s all in a sleek design that mirrors the aesthetic Huawei uses on its popular GT2 smartwatch line.

It looks a niche product still and not one that we’ve seen many people out and about with, but Huawei is releasing it fully in the UK with a starting price of £179 with a coral red or graphite black silicone strap. Two leather strap models cos £199 and a metal one goes for £219. You can buy all models here.

You’re going to have to really want the Bluetooth headset to go for the TalkBand though, considering popular GPS trackers like the Fitbit Charge 4 go for £129 (the TalkBand lacks built-in GPS). The headset is the quirk here, but it should be pretty useful if you take a lot of calls on the go or at your desk and want to get a tracker at the same time.

Huawei says the headset has dual-mic noise cancellation that reduces the ambient noise around you so the person on the other end of the line can hear you clearer (not to be confused with active noise cancellation seen on some headphones). Huawei also claims a ten minute charge gives the B6 enough juice for four hours of talk time.

Add to that sleep tracking, the heart rate sensor, menstrual cycle tracking, and oxygen saturation detection, it’s a surprisingly fully featured product that kills two birds with one stone. It might be for you, even if you didn’t know it before you saw it.
